Exhibition Venue

By popular request and supported by independent research findings, The Star Human Resources Development Expo has moved a new home – the high profile, EXSA award winning Sandton International Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

A venue of global standards, the Sandton Convention Centre combines spectacular double and triple-volume use of interior space in its main exhibition and public areas, with smaller break-away meeting rooms and galleries, which cater for more intimate gatherings.

The Sandton Convention Centre is a twelve-story structure designed and built to provide convention, exhibition and special event space over four main levels. Its extensive glass frontage creates an open, inviting façade from which delegates can see and be seen, especially when travelling on the 26 escalators in their two escalator wells. The main foyers and several of the meeting rooms enjoy excellent natural daylight, and the building has been designed to accommodate and provide access for disabled visitors.

Located in the heart of Sandton’s hotel, business and entertainment district, Sandton Convention Centre offers easy access to over 5,000 hotel rooms, is adjacent to the country’s top shopping and entertainment complexes and provides 10,600 secure parking bays. There is over 22,000m of convention, exhibition and special event space. The Pavilion can seat 4,500 patrons; the Ballroom can seat 2,000 banquet guests and the 13 other meeting rooms can accommodate up to 350 delegates. The two exhibition levels combine floor space of 11 000m.

A wireless zone, the SCC offers uninterrupted connectivity.

The centre is managed by Southern Sun Hotel Interests and developed by Tsogo Sun, a leading black empowerment group.
