The Star Interbuild Africa, together with co-locating shows Plumbdrain Africa, Sani’ter, Frigair, Glass Expo Africa and Woodpro Africa, is the largest building services, construction, plumbing, drainage, water and sewerage, HVAC/R, glass and aluminium, and woodworking exhibition in Africa hosting the full spectrum of related industries in residential, commercial and industrial development.

2010 marks the first year that South Africa’s international hardware and allied products exhibition, Hardex, will also become a co-locating show of The Star Interbuild. Hardex provides an ideal marketing and networking opportunity for South Africa’s hardware and allied products industry and is again expected to showcase general hardware, power tools, hand tools, building materials, decorating and home decor, garden and leisure, adhesives, sanitaryware, paint and coatings, plumbing and bathroom accessories, fastenings and fixings, locksmiths' products, industrial hardware, electrical accessories, material, shop fittings, information technology, automotive aftermarket, timber and woodwork, metal and welding, ladders and trolleys.

Strategically developed as a “one-stop” event, the above combined shows provide four exciting days of new product launches, interactive product demonstrations, high profile guest visits and profitable business networking.

As the leading building services and construction trade exhibition in Africa, Interbuild Africa enjoys the support and sponsorship of high profile daily newspaper, The Star, whose management team understands the importance of this sector of industry and its positive impact on the local economy. The popular and widely circulated newspaper communicates a strong message to both industry players and the public through its readership. The niche focus of the Interbuild Africa exhibition is on building services and construction across residential, commercial and industrial development, covering affordable housing products, civil engineering equipment, plant hire and equipment, scaffolding and structural products including bricks, tiles, cement, flooring and windows, doors, roofing and cladding, lighting and paints.

In 2008, more than 7,800 visitors attended the event over four days, travelling from across South Africa as well as further afield from countries including Botswana, Ghana, Lesotho, Namibia, Mozambique, Swaziland and Zambia, as well as the Ukraine, China, Taiwan, France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Australia.
